We offer two types of systems: roped hydraulic and winding drum elevators. Each system has its advantages and cost considerations. Will the door ever open while the elevator is moving? Can the landing door be opened when the elevator is not there? What happens if I have a problem with the elevator and it's not during normal business hours? Are elevators expensive?Residential elevators are not expensive when you consider the benefits and value to your investment. Do not be fooled by elevators you can buy on the internet for a lot less. To have the privilege to sell their products, we meet all of their requirements for financial stability, qualified personnel, and service.Are there tax advantages to buying a home elevator?You need to consult with your accountant on how the tax advantage may effect you, however, if you have a medical necessity and have a prescription from a licensed physician, the sales tax would be waived and also a percentage based on your annual income may be deducted. Moreover, adding an elevator to your home may increase your home value as much as 10% depending on the value of the home.Is a pit required to have a residential elevator? And if so, how deep?Although most elevators require a pit, there are a couple of models available that do not require one. The pitless elevators open new options for installation of elevators in existing applications without costly slab cuts and reinforcing. For new homes, a pit depth of 8" maximum is usually sufficient. Are residential elevators limited in size?Residential elevators are limited in size by two factors. The area of the platform occupied by passengers cannot exceed 15 sq ft based on ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) 17.1 requirements. The height of the cab is restricted by overhead space at the top landing and physical restrictions of the car frame. Elevator Specialties standard cab size is 12 sq ft (3' x 4') with a 6' 8" ceiling. Cab height can be customized up to a maximum of 8'. What happens in the event of a power outage?Every Physiolift elevator includes features designed to compensate for power outages. In the event of a power outage, our controller automatically reverts to battery powered operation. In this mode, the controller will extinguish all unnecessary light sources to conserve power; illuminate every button in the car operating panel to provide in-car emergency lighting; and finally, it will lower, level and stop at the next available landing.
